Obedience Is Key

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God (Romans 13:1) A story was told of a Christian woman who was in the habit of defying the state's law on environmental sanitation exercise every last Saturday of the month. Her excuse was that she was not bound by the laws of man because she was doing God's work. So, anytime the environmental exercise was on, she would go about with megaphone, preaching on the streets. She was eventually arrested and taken to the court where she was tried, found guilty alnd sentenced to one month imprisonment with hard labour. As she was being led away into prison, she was screaming that she was in the will of God. In our text today, Paul the apostle saw the need to correct a wrong impression among some believers who think that government authorities were demons and needed not be obeyed or respected. He pointed out to them that no government would be in existence if God had not ordained it for a purpose. He encouraged believers to subject themselves to the authorities as such powers are God's instruments. It is shockingthat some believers disobey constituted authority by refusing to pay taxes and other legitimate dues. Such people also refuse to take part in other civic activities for the good of society. Those who resist civil government are actually resisting God who instituted government in orderto maintain order in the society. The fact that rulers of civil government are corrupt and wicked does not invalidate the necessity of civil government and one’s obedience to the laws of the land. Every citizen, irrespective of religious-background, must abide by the laws of the land. Disobedience to any law is only welcome by God when such law is in direct conflict with the divine law. Expressing the Wonders of Praises!

God inhabits the environments of praise, God's natural inhabitance is praise. (Ps 22:3)
For us to see the wonder of praise, we have to put on the Garment of praise. (2Kings 3:14-19

The wonders of praise is ulimited, praise provokes supernatural deliverance. Acts 16 : 15-20
Praise is a sure weapon, it never fails.

THE SILENT POWER OF THOUGH PART 1

The most powerful forces in the universe are the silent forces; and in accordance with the intensity of its power dos a force become beneficent when rightly directed and destructive when wrongly employed. This is a common knowledge in regard to the mechanical forces, such as stream, electricity, etc., but few have yet learned to apply this knowledge to the realm of mind, where the thought-forces (most powerful of all) are continually being generated and sent forth as currents of salvation or destruction.

If circumstance had the power to bless or harms, they would bless and harm all people alike, but the fact that the same circumstances will be alike good and bad to different souls proves that the good or bad is not in the circumstance but only in the mind of those who encounter it. When you begin to realize this, you will begin to control your thoughts, to regulate and discipline your mind, and to rebuild the inward temple of your soul, eliminating all useless and superfluous material and incorporating into your being through thoughts alone of joy and serenity, of strength and life, of companion and love, of beauty and immortality; and as you do this, you will become joyful and serene, strong and healthy, compassionate and loving, and beautiful with the beauty of immortality. And as we clothe events with the drapery of our own thoughts, so likewise do we clothe the objects of the visible world around us, and where one sees harmony and beauty, another sees revolting ugliness. And as we clothe both events and objects with our own thought, so likewise do we clothe the souls of others in the garments of our thoughts. The suspicious believe everybody to be suspicious; liars feel secure in the thought that they are not so foolish as to believe that there is such phenomenon as a strictly truthful person; the envious see envy soul; misers think everybody is eager to get their money. Those who have subordinated conscience in the making of their wealth sleep with a revolver under their pillow, wrapped in the delusion that the world is full of conscienceless people who are eager to rob them. The abandoned sensualist looks upon the saint as a hypocrite; on the other hand, those who dwell in loving thoughts see in all that which calls forth their love and sympathy. The trusting and honest are not troubled by suspicious; the good fortune of others, scarcely know what envy means; and those who have realized the Divine within themselves recognize it in all being, even in the beasts. Do you wish for kindness? Be kind. Do you ask for truth? Be true. What you give of yourself you find; Your world is a reflex of you. If you are one of those who are praying for and looking forward to a happier world beyond the grave, here is the message of gladness for you: you may enter into and realize that happy world now; it fills the whole universe and it is within you, waiting for you to find, acknowledge, and possess. What you have to do is to believe this, simply believe it with a mind unclouded by doubt, and then meditate upon it till you understand it. You will then begin to purify and to build your inner world, and as you proceed, passing from revelation to revelation, from realization to realization, you will discover the utter powerlessness of outward things beside the magic potency of a self-governed soul.

What you are, so is your world. Everything in the universe is resolved into your own inward experience. It matters little what is without, for it is all a reflection of your own state of consciousness. It matters everything what you are within, for everything without will be mirrored and coloured accordingly.All that you positively know is contained in your own experience; all that you ever will know must pass through the gateway of experience, and so become part of yourself.Your own thoughts, desires, and aspirations comprise your world, and, to you, all that there is in the universe of beauty and joy and bliss, or of ugliness and sorrow and pain, are contained within yourself. By your own thoughts you make or mar your life, your world, your universe. As you build within by the power of thought, so will your outward life and circumstances shape themselves accordingly. Whatsoever you harbour in the inmost chambers of your heart will sooner or later, by the inevitable law of reaction, shape itself in your outward life. The soul that is impure, sordid, and selfish is gravitating with unerring precision toward misfortune and catastrophe; the soul that is pure, unselfish, and noble in gravitating with equal precision toward happiness and prosperity.
